With the implementation of The Workplace Safety and Health Act, it is essential to cultivate good safety habits in all individuals. It requires contractors to take reasonably practicable measures to ensure the safety and health of workers and other people that are affected by the work being carried out.
All exhibitors when appointing contractors to construct or/and decorate their stands or/and chalets must ensure that the contractor is at least BizSAFE 3 certified. Please visit here for more information. Appointed contractors must comply with the Workplace Safety and Health Act (WSHA) in Singapore and submit a Risk Assessment (RA) and Safe Work Procedures (SWPs) for their work specific to the event prior to moving in for the build-up. The RA and SWP must be prepared by a competent person who has attended the bizSAFE 2 Certification Course conducted by training providers approved by the Singapore Ministry of Manpower.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
The purpose of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is to protect employees from exposure to work place hazards and the risk of injury. Before using the PPE, steps should always be taken to eliminate or control hazards, and work procedures should be in place to limit exposure to these hazards.
During the Build-up and Tear-down period, the appropriate personal protective equipment must be used. Eg. High visibility vest, safety/covered shoes, safety harness and safety helmets. Raw space stand contractors will have to prepare high visibility vests for their respective exhibitors. High visibility vests can also be purchased on-site at the Event Service Centre and Registration Gateway at $10 per vest.
Valid Passes must be worn at all times when in the exhibition premises, including during build-up and tear down.
Minors below the age of 18 are not permitted in the exhibition premises throughout the build-up, exhibition trade days and tear down period.
The maximum height for raw space stands must not exceed the height limit allowed in the respective segments of the hall. (click here for plan)
Exhibitors must take note that customs clearance is only from Mondays to Fridays (barring any public holidays, if any), hence please ensure that all goods/products arrive Singapore in good time.
