Accreditation Process

1 Accreditation Requirements

All applications MUST include:

  1. Completed accreditation application form
  2. Accreditation Pass Photo:

    Applicants are required to upload a recent close-up photo adhering to these guidelines:

    • Colour photo taken within the last six months. Black and white or monochrome photos will not be accepted.
    • Background of the photo must be plain white and provide a good contrast against the individual’s face and hair.
    • Subject is framed full face, front view with eyes open. Photos showing side profiles or sunglasses will not be accepted.
    • Headgear worn in accordance with religious or racial custom is acceptable as long as it does not hide the facial features
    • Photos should be in .JPG or .PNG format with a resolution of 300dpi resolution and a file size of 1MB or less.
    • Photos should be 45mm (H) x 35mm (W).

  3. Press Credentials:

    Applicants are required to include the relevant set of press credentials below:

    Singapore-based news journalists A scanned copy of their MCI Press Accreditation Card
    Foreign journalists * A scanned copy of their National Press Card
    Freelance journalists ** A letter of assignment on the official letterhead of a media organisation signed by the Publisher/Assignment Editor, Editor-in-chief or Bureau Chief (in PDF format), specifying the name and functional title of the journalist, and stating their role at Singapore Airshow 2020. Unsigned letters will not be accepted.
    Online media (e.g. news websites, photography websites) ***
    • Proof of legitimacy (e.g. belonging to a registered company, such as a media organisation, and have a specific, verifiable, non-web address and telephone number.
    • Proof of a substantial amount of original and topical news content or commentary or analysis on international issues, written by its editorial team.
    • Recent monthly traffic report from an external demographic tool, such as Google Analytics, verifying the online publication gets 5,000 or more unique monthly visitors.
    • The site must be previously established, independent and regularly updated with original and current industry news.
    Online media (e.g. blogs and forums) ***
    • Proof of an established record of having written extensively on international issues and present copies of three recently published articles, not more than six months old, with his/her byline.
    • Proof of a substantial amount of original and topical news content or commentary or analysis on international issues, written by its editorial team.
    • Recent monthly traffic report from an external demographic tool, such as Google Analytics, verifying the blog gets substantial unique monthly visitor traffic.
    Social Media (e.g. Facebook, YouTube, Instagram) ***
    • Proof of a substantial amount of original and topical content or commentary published by the applicant in the last six months relevant to elements of Singapore Airshow 2020
    • Report of key performance indicators from the last six months, supplemented by tools such as Google Analytics and screenshots (e.g. no. of followers, no. of likes, no. of views, profile of responses)

    * Accreditation approval letters can be used as supporting documents for visa applications. Foreign media who need to apply for a visa to visit Singapore should submit their applications for accreditation early to ensure visas can be obtained on time.

    ** Information about the media outlet (such as website, circulation, readership/viewership, frequency, etc.) and an original copy of the publication (to be supplied on request).

    *** Historically established for at least 6 months prior to the start of Singapore Airshow 2020.

2 Pass Collection

2.1 Pre-registered Media

For media who submitted their accreditation applications prior to the online due date and were successful in obtaining approval, please produce the following at the Media Counter at the Registration Gateway during Site Access hours:

  1. Accreditation approval email with unique assigned QR code

2.2 On-site Registration

For media who did not submit their accreditation applications prior to the online due date, there is an option for on-site registration.

Please bring along the all relevant press credentials stated in Section 1c above. A photo will be taken on-site to be used in the Media Pass.

However, please note that due to the stringent screening process, more time may be required to verify the applicant(s) eligibility for accreditation, fill in a registration form and subsequently process a Media Pass, before site access is granted. We therefore strongly encourage all media to go through the online accreditation process prior to the event days.
